The Sunday Book Market in Old Delhi
So, I thought of reigniting my blog, during these CORONA times. It was always in the mind, but I was always procrastinating. However I was just trying to fathom activities I have been missing because of the whole lockdown situation in India. Not having street food in Delhi is a big miss. So is heading to the local park for a run or walk. And then not visiting the The Sunday Book Market in Old Delhi is also a killjoy.
I have been visiting The Sunday Book Market in Old Delhi since a few years now. It has always been a joy. Earlier the booksellers used to line up on the road side pavement in Daryaganj, but now there’s an allocated space for them. Though I think it is a little rarer these days to find the book titles that would make you happy, it’s still a must do. Once I ended up finding an entire lot of books on Don McCullin. I have also managed to find Calvin and Hobbes Titles, a rare title by Raghubir Singh, Business Books, Childre Comics and many other books along the way.You can get great deals on second hand books and sometimes you can buy old book titles by their weight !!
If you end up visiting the The Sunday Book Market in Old Delhi, do give yourself some time to explore it fully. The best way to reach there is to take the Delhi Metro. Both discovering some rare book titles and exploring Old Delhi is a great joy.
