Lathmar Holi in Barsana
Sharing a few images from Lathmar Holi in Barsana…ended up editing them last night …did a fair bit of experimentation ..underexposures, movement, over exposure…I first went to Barsana/Nandgaon/Vrindavan in 2008 . It seems a lot more touristy as expected . And had a plethora of photographers waiting for their eternal shot with zooms . I ended up seeing and meeting Steve McCurry as well. It is a bit funny as you will see all kind of contraptions being used by photographers as protection gear for water .Lathmar Holi has become quite popular since the first time I visited it . Holi in India ,also known as festivals of colour is quite popular across the country as well as outside.

Visitor from Nandgaon
Barsana is around 150 kms from New Delhi. One could take a bus or own vehicle to reach there using the Old Highway or New . Though there are one-two odd places to stay in Barsana/Nandgaon, they are relatively small village towns . Hence it is best to make Vrindavan as a base and then travel around to either of these locations ( which takes around an hour to reach ). One can stay in many of guest houses which are not that expensive and relatively clean .The Holi starts at 4 pm onwards, but its a good idea to roam the village and soak in the atmosphere . An incredibly unique experience.
