Photo of the week: Sisters, Kanyakumari

Photographing Vivekananda Rock
Two sisters in Kanyakumari, the southernmost point in Indian mainland.

Kanyakumari, India

I took a train from Trivandrum to Kanyakumari. I was backpacking in Kerala and decided to visit some of the old haunches. The area near Vivekananda Rock was buzzing with a lot of energy. There were people everywhere: some were taking in the view, some were enjoying the sea, many were shopping and then some wanted to take a ferry to The Vivekananda Rock. I was photographing Vivekananda Rock and took some pictures and then in a corner saw these two sisters who wearing the same printed sari were deeply gazing in the opposite side. I was using my good old 35 mm and battered Canon 5D to take the image. Did n’t want to miss the moment, and the gaze.
